BEIJING — On September 2, 2026, Beijing Edencare Hospital officially inaugurated two new clinical centers: the Complex Limb Preservation Center and the Finger Reconstruction Center. The launch marks a further step in the hospital's work to strengthen reconstructive microsurgery, complex trauma care, and multidisciplinary surgical support.

The opening ceremony was attended by hospital leadership, nursing directors, operating-room and anesthesia teams, and the reconstructive surgery team. The event highlighted the close collaboration among surgical, anesthetic, nursing, and supply-chain teams that underpins complex reconstructive cases.

From Department Building to Center-Level Care

Since the establishment of its Reconstructive & Microsurgery department in mid-2026, Edencare has been building experience in severe limb trauma, complex replantation, and difficult wound repair. Over several months, surgical technique, operating-room coordination, anesthesia support, and post-operative nursing workflows have been integrated into a smoother, center-based model.

The new centers are designed to concentrate expertise, equipment, and care pathways so that patients with complex limb injuries or finger loss can receive coordinated assessment, surgery, and rehabilitation planning.

Two Centers, One Coordinated Mission

Complex Limb Preservation Center

This center focuses on high-difficulty limb-threatening conditions, including severe limb destruction, complex replantation, and non-healing wounds. The goal is to provide structured, multidisciplinary assessment for patients who might otherwise face amputation, offering reconstructive options whenever clinically appropriate.

Finger Reconstruction Center

This center specializes in functional and aesthetic hand reconstruction for congenital differences or traumatic finger loss. Using microsurgical techniques, the team aims to restore fine grip, movement, and natural appearance while supporting the patient's long-term recovery and daily function.

Systems That Support Complex Reconstruction

Reconstructive surgery at this level depends on more than individual skill. Edencare has put in place a full-chain support system:

  • 24/7 emergency response with an established green channel and multidisciplinary consultation pathways for trauma and critical cases.
  • Rapid surgical readiness with stocked orthopedic implants, external fixation systems, thermoplastic supports, and microsurgical suture materials, supported by direct supplier coordination to reduce equipment delays.
  • Intensive specialty nursing with hourly post-operative monitoring protocols to support early detection of circulation and tissue-perfusion changes.
  • Case-based care teams for each patient, linking the operating surgeon, nursing team, and rehabilitation specialists across pre-hospital inquiry, in-hospital care, follow-up, and recovery guidance.

Looking Ahead

With the launch of the two centers, Beijing Edencare Hospital plans to continue developing its complex trauma, limb function reconstruction, and finger reconstruction services. The initiative reflects a platform-and-team approach: specialized surgeons work within a coordinated hospital system so that patients receive continuous, detailed support from admission through rehabilitation.
